Version One scoops an International environmental award
Version One honoured with a Green Hero Award for a seventh consecutive year - Document management and imaging software author, Version One, has been awarded an International Green Hero Award from UK environment group, The Green Organisation, in recognition of the environmental credentials of its DbCapture PDF module. Version One was presented with the award during a prestigious ceremony by Trevor Baylis OBE, the inventor of the wind-up radio, at East Wintergarden, Canary Warf, London, on 25 June 2012.
The Green Hero Awards are run by UK independent environment group, The Green Organisation, and are presented annually to organisations that have shown exceptional green credentials and that have been identified as environmental leaders in their field.
Greg Ford, Version One’s Managing Director, says, “We are proud to once again have our document management and imaging solutions recognised for making a positive contribution to the environment. To be honoured for the seventh year running, is testament to our continued dedication to fulfilling organisations’ environmental needs, whilst supporting their business requirements.”
Version One’s DbCapture PDF, which is an addition to intelligent data capture solution, DbCapture, enables users to electronically process purchase invoices in a PDF format, eliminating the need for a paper invoice.
Version One is consistently honoured for its positive contributions to the environment and has recently scooped a prestigious Green IT Award 2012, for a third consecutive year and is a finalist in this year’s highly-acclaimed BusinessGreen Leaders Awards 2012.
As part of its environmental agenda, which was launched in 2006, Version One has pledged to plant over 5,000 trees in school grounds and sustainable forests throughout the UK by the end of 2013. The software company has so far planted 4,657 trees. The most recent planting was in the grounds of Cheadle Hulme School, in Cheshire, with 340 Blackthorn and Hawthorn trees planted in the School grounds to create hedgerows.
Version One’s portfolio of document management and imaging solutions enable the electronic creation, storage, retrieval, management, delivery and authorisation of business documents. By implementing Version One’s systems, businesses significantly reduce their paper consumption, cutting costs and improving process efficiencies whilst supporting their environmental agendas.
