Trade Training Associates launch new division

Award winning training provider, Trade Training Associates (TTA), has announced the launch of a new automotive division and a key appointment.

Forward-thinking TTA has appointed Mark Brown to the role of business development director to head up the new division, which will provide comprehensive training and assessment packages to apprentices working in the retail motor industry.

The apprentices, who will be working in either the sales or parts departments of both independent and national dealerships, will receive NVQ Level 2 & 3 training on site within the garage environment, thereby earning and learning at the same time.

These qualifications, which are both competency and procedure based will also include an element of sales training and will provide a good foundation from which to launch a lasting career in the industry.

Mr Brown brings with him extensive experience of the retail motor industry, having spent time in both the UK and Middle East launching new dealerships notably for Land Rover, Ferrari and Maserati. More recently he has been working on behalf of the Retail Motor Industry Federation as its north regional sales manager looking after garages’ interests in relation to training sales staff and therefore understands the needs of the industry better than most when it comes to training.

Speaking about this latest development in the growth of TTA, director, Blake Robinson said:

“I am pleased to welcome Mark to TTA at this exciting stage in our ongoing development. He has immense experience and knowledge of the retail motor industry and for that reason I believe he is the ideal candidate to head up our new automotive division. Having carried out market research we became aware of the shortage of training providers offering this type of training and assessment.

“As a regional training provider we are keen to contribute to creating sustainable employment and I am particularly delighted to say that this investment has been welcomed by the Institute of the Motor Industry, who are fully supportive of our plans.”

TTA has received initial interest in this new venture from the likes of Citroen and Ford and some local independent garages. In addition to working with apprentices already in employment, TTA will also be recruiting its own apprentices to the training programme, with a view to finding them full-time employment.

Employers who recruit apprentices can benefit from a £1500 government grant which significantly lowers the cost of recruiting young people, whilst at the same time, benefit from being able to build the skill set of their apprentices in line with company needs.
