IT business grows and expands on third birthday
North East based IT support business spent their third birthday moving into office space four times the size.
DaMtech Ltd was launched in 2009 and has thrived ever since, the local company now help over 140 North East businesses with their IT support, in a variety of sectors from construction to garden centres.
Darren Jarret, 29, worked as an IT consultant for nine years at a local solicitors and after finding himself made redundant he decided to start up his own business and become his own boss. Joining forces with Matt Jenkinson, 25, they moved the company into a small incubator office at the North East Business and Innovation Centre (BIC).
DaMtech have now moved into larger accommodation, expanding not just for storage space but to also welcome two more employees to add to their ever growing company. Darren said:
“We are now wishing to add to our team and would ideally like to welcome an apprentice on board so we can help develop their skills. Looking back to where we started with only one client on the books and a small office to where we are now is phenomenal.”
Matt adds: “I have always had a passion for computers and technology so to be able to work full time in my hobby is a dream come true. Like so many graduates I struggled to find employment in my chosen sector so I made my own job.
“We love being situated at the BIC, advice and support is always on hand and there is a real sense of community spirit here.”
Louise Hardy, business mentor at the BIC said: “It has been wonderful to see DaMtech achieve so much in a short space of time. I wish them all the best for the future.”
The BIC offers a range of commercial property options with flexible tenancy agreement. Business space the site ranges from 6000 sq ft industrial units to 150 sq ft small office space to let, perfect for start-up, expanding and well-established businesses.
