Steelworks Transformation Success
Acting on behalf of Mountcity Group , the Building Consultancy Team at CBRE in Leeds has project managed the redevelopment of Units 23-26 Chambers Way on Thorncliffe Park in Sheffield. The success of the works has now led to all three units, which total 55,731 sq ft, being fully let by agent, Knight Frank.
The 15,400 sq ft unit has been taken by plastic manufacturer Blowplast, metals manufacturer Premier Hytemp Ltd is occupying a 14,455 sq ft unit and tool firm Presto International is occupying the larger 25,876 sq ft unit. All tenants have signed 10 year leases.
The former steel works have been internally and externally refurbished and sub divided into three self-contained industrial warehouse units as part of the £2M overhaul.
Senior Surveyor in CBRE Leeds’ Building Consultancy team, Steve Taylor, said; “It is always extremely satisfying to work on a project such as Thorncliffe Park and see the progress from redevelopment to new tenant occupation. The scheme was initially undertaken on a speculative basis but as the units were let during the construction phase we were able to add various additional fit out works and enhance the design and build contract to really fit the occupiers’ requirements.”
