Social media: SMEs first port of call?
Almost 40% of SMEs in the UK are reported to use social media.
A study from Constant Contact showed that 42% of UK SMEs use Twitter for marketing purposes, and 79% of UK SMEs already using social media expect to increase their usage in the next year.
But how effective is social media as a way of getting your business out there?
24 % of British SMEs report using Facebook to market their organisation, but 37 % say they don’t think it has helped their business in any way, and only 1/5 think that they use Facebook well to market their business.
Do these figures suggest that small and medium sized businesses need to fully embrace social media to maximise publicity?
