British bank to capitalise on “German technology buzz“

British technology investment bank, GP Bullhound, is branching out into the German market with a new office in Berlin.

The bank have acquired German corporate finance house, Pure Equity Advisors GmBH, and now plan to capitalise on Germany’s strong reputation in eCommerce, digital media, software, gaming and green technologies.

Julian Riedlbauer heads Pure Equity, and will now join GP Bullhound as a partner, using his network of German venture capital and corporate relationships to serve the company.

The move follows last year’s opening of a Stockholm office for GP Bullhound, who also have bases in London and San Francisco.

Per Roman, co-founder and managing partner of GP Bullhound, said: “Julian is a successful technology banker, former entrepreneur and a good friend, who comes highly recommended by some of the smartest German entrepreneurs that we know.

“Bringing him and his team on board is a coup for GP Bullhound and will allow us to support German companies even better in the future. Having an office in Berlin, one of the hottest start-up cities on the planet, based in Europe’s largest Internet economy, will help us stay current.”

Pure Equity is an independent financial advisory firm with offices in Berlin and Hamburg with a team of five experienced banking professionals; their focus is on providing entrepreneurs with exits and growth equity fundraising.
