New ‘Quick Quotes’ will help North Tyneside businesses
North Tyneside Council is introducing a new ‘Quick Quotes’ system which will simplify the quotations process for the supply of goods below £50k, helping local businesses get the chance to bid for work.
The ‘Quick Quotes’ system will randomly select 2 quotations from North Tyneside suppliers who are registered on the NEPO e-portal.
To use this new initiative, companies need to register, free of charge, on the NEPO e-portal, by going to www.nepoportal.org . Those already registered should log onto the NEPO e-portal to update their company profile (When registering or updating accounts it’s important that the profile contains the appropriate categories for your organisation, company classification, postcode, and correct e-mail address. Anyone unable to register, log on,or having technical queries can contact the NEPO e-portal helpdesk on 0191 4335949, or e-mail info@nepoportal.org
NB: The ‘Quick Quotes’ system is only for contracts let directly by the Council. It does not include work undertaken through the Joint Venture with Kier North Tyneside; which includes housing repairs and maintenance, office maintenance, and capital construction work.
The first quotation using the ‘Quick Quotes’ system will be sent out during late September.
Supplier Engagement/Registration Events
To introduce the ‘Quick Quotes’ system to North Tyneside-based businesses, a series of free supplier events will take place in September, as follows:
- Tuesday 11 September, 8am - 9am. Wallsend Town Hall (NE28 7RR)
- Thursday 13 September, 5pm - 6pm. Quadrant, Cobalt Business Park (NE27 0BY
- Thursday 20 September, 1pm - 2pm, White Swan Centre, Killingworth (NE12 6SS)
There’ll be an opening presentation, a system demonstration, and then a question & answer session. There’ll also be officers present to help register on the system or update existing accounts.
Anyone interested in attending one of these events should contact Anne Holmes on 0191 6436476, anne.holmes@northtyneside.gov.uk; or Clare Luery on 0191 6435748, clare.luery@northtyneside.gov.uk indicating the chosen event, company name, plus the names, email addresses and phone numbers of attendees.
