UNW expands corporate finance team

UNW, a leading firm of chartered accountants and business advisers, has announced it has expanded its corporate finance team with the arrival of Jo Powell.

Having spent many years working in the South of England for one of the big four accounting firms, Jo has acquired extensive knowledge and experience, advising clients in the public sector, bio-technical, large manufacturing and healthcare spheres.

Most recently she has worked at a high level advising primary care trusts in the boroughs of South West London how they can best work together to achieve greater efficiencies and cost savings in line with Government directives.

Jo’s experience adds further depth and resource to a growing division. Speaking about her new role, Jo said:

“When I came to the north east I wanted to work for a practice which had a strong regional presence and I am delighted to join such a well respected practice as UNW. I feel my experience complements that of the existing corporate finance team and I am really looking forward to working closely with a diverse range of clients.”

Commenting on this latest addition to the corporate finance team, Julie Gilhespie added:

“Jo’s arrival adds further depth of resource to our team. I am confident that her experience in the bio-technical and large manufacturing fields as well as the public sector will support the practice as we continue to grow our client base.”

UNW’s corporate finance team provides a full range of advisory services including disposals, MBOs, MBIs and is the North East’s leading grants adviser to businesses having successfully completed in excess of 100 funding applications.

This latest appointment coincides with the announcement of a number of internal promotions. Sue Richardson, Joanna Grey and Sam Rymell have all been promoted to senior manager level while Katy Cheung and David Blair have both been promoted to managers.
