Leading care services provider backs Age UK event
An organisation which supports work with older people in Shropshire is celebrating its first anniversary, with the support of the county’s leading independent care services provider.
Age UK North Shropshire Supporters has held a host of charity events since its launch last year and is holding its first birthday party on September 6.
Shropshire’s largest independent care service provider, Shrewsbury-based Coverage Care, is sponsoring the Oswestry event which organisers hope will raise funds and awareness of the work being done locally by Age UK Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin.
Age UK NSS chairwoman Sue Dewhirst said: “The event will provide us with an opportunity to make businesses in the area aware of the fundraising work we do and to ask them to consider regular giving or sponsorship. We will also be making another cheque presentation to Heather Osborne, CEO of Age UK STW on the evening.
“We’re extremely grateful to Coverage Care which is sponsoring the event at the Wynnstay Hotel. We rely on the support of local businesses to be able to continue the important work being done locally by Age UK, particularly at the eight day care centres in the north of the county.”
Chief executive of Coverage Care, David Coull, added: “We’re delighted to be able to join forces with Age UK NSS for such a good cause, with money raised helping older people in our local communities. As a care home operator and a provider of domiciliary care services in Shropshire, we are well aware of the need for the important work done by Age UK Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and congratulate the North Shropshire Supporters on their first anniversary.”
Tickets, priced at £25 a head, are still available for the event at 7pm on September 6, which includes a three course meal and piano bar. A raffle will also be held to raise funds for Age UK. Contact mail@ageuknorthshropshiresupporters.co.uk or call 07920 502546 for further details.
Coverage Care Services Limited is the county’s largest independent care home provider and also provides a range of domiciliary care services, largely in support of older people, those with dementia and people with learning disabilities in Shropshire.
