New Barnsley Base for Cardiff Firm
Acting on behalf of Pall Mall Investments, the Industrial Agency teams at Gent Visick and CBRE have completed the letting of the 55,000sq ft Unit 15 at Carlton Industrial Estate in Barnsley.
Nationwide logistics firm Rhys Davies Freight Logistics has signed a 10 year lease for the large industrial warehouse unit with additional offices and 7 acres of land to relocate their Yorkshire operation from smaller 10,000sq ft premises at Horbury Junction in Wakefield.
The new base is located off Industry Road just two miles from Barnsley town centre and five miles from the M1 Motorway, offering Rhys Davies & Sons an excellent addition to their existing warehouse network of nine sites.
Paul Hodgkiss, Operations Director at Rhys Davies & Sons said; “Barnsley is the ideal location for our storage and distribution operations. The site will strengthen our presence in the area and demonstrates our continued commitment to developing our national network of depots.”
Nick Prescott, Associate Partner, Industrial agency at Gent Visick said; “We presented the option of a South Yorkshire relocation to Rhys Davies & Sons on the basis that the property provided the internal and external space required in addition to still being within their required network drive times.”
Daniel Austin, Senior Surveyor, Industrial Agency at CBRE continued; “To attract an established occupier such as this signals excellent news for the locality and the wider region.”
