Shaftesbury homes have quality built in

A leading regional housebuilder is celebrating after one of its site managers was awarded a prestigious NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Award – for the second year running.

Richard Channon picked up his win for The Maltings development, the Persimmon Homes site at Shaftesbury. Last year he was awarded the Seal of Excellence at the same development.

Rob Allen, sales director of Persimmon Homes South Coast, said: “A Pride in the Job Award is the highest industry accolade a site manager can receive.

“Persimmon Homes demand the very highest standards of quality and service for customers, and Richard’s contribution is a superb example of this philosophy.

“We are very proud that one of our team has had his outstanding professionalism rewarded with this national recognition and eagerly await the NHBC’s awards luncheon in September where we will find out if Richard wins the Seal of Excellence again.”

Richard Channon added: “The Maltings was a good site where our consistent approach delivered a quality product. The stunning development has eye-catching exterior elevations and spacious interiors.

“We’ll continue a high standard of building at The Maltings, where we are currently completing the third phase. We’re building 700 homes, so we expect to be at the site till 2016 and hopefully we’ll win a few more Pride in the Job awards.”

The NHBC (National House-Building Council) Pride in the Job Quality Award identifies the unique role of site managers in the construction of new homes from start to finish and who influence the overall quality of the finished product.

The awards programme is the only UK-wide competition dedicated to recognising site managers who achieve the highest standards and it has been instrumental in driving up the quality of new homes for 32 years, ensuring homeowner confidence in award-winning developments.

Quality Awards are selected by NHBC Building Inspectors and Inspection Managers, who judge winners on meticulous and consistent attention to detail, quality of workmanship on the site, excellent leadership, technical expertise and robust health and safety processes.

Persimmon Homes South Coast is delivering quality new homes throughout Dorset, Hampshire, West Sussex and Wiltshire.
