Westray Recruitment launch training scheme for job seekers

Westray Recruitment Consultants are delighted to announce a partnership with training provider, Talent Training.

Jointly, it is our aim to get more people in the North East, currently having to claim unemployment benefits, back into work as soon as possible by combining the Talent Start programme with Westray’s Client network, through a series of free training courses. Research has revealed that there are some significant shortfalls in employability skills in the region. We are working with Talent Training to give people the opportunity to enhance their skill set to allow them to be work-ready and not just work-willing, making them a more attractive prospect to employers. Particularly for those interested in Warehousing, Call-centre and Customer Service occupations, a BTEC Level 2 Certificate could be gained by those attending the two-week programmes whilst also learning the following:

  • Team working
  • Problem solving
  • Customer awareness
  • Communications and literacy
  • Application of number
  • ICT

Statistics show that a significant proportion of people find work within a few weeks of completing the course, illustrating the effectiveness of the initiative.

Westray Recruitment Consultants Operations Director Richard Froggatt, who is heading up the initiative, said; “We are delighted to be working with Talent Training to help people in our region who are determined to gain themselves as much of an advantage as possible, to get themselves back into lasting employment. We know there are many local people who are really keen to get back into work and who are willing to put in the effort to ensure that they have all the skills and additional help necessary to give themselves the best chance to make sure they do.”

Our courses will be running on a regular basis. If you are interested in booking a place on one of courses, or if you are looking for further information, please call our Industrial Division on 0191 415 1100.
