Metal Firm Moves Into Historic Industrial Works
A leading multi metal company has fittingly chosen to move into the former home of iron and steel works in Teesside, Cargo Fleet Offices, as part of the business’ expansion in the North East.
SES Multi Metal Stock, which is the UK’s largest multi metal stockholder and plasma profiler, is the tenth tenant to move into the historic industrial building that was restored in 2011 by Python Properties.
The metal firm, which has its head office in Rochdale within the North West, has expanded due to demand from industry within Teesside and has also recruited an additional member of staff, Fiona Jardine, to its sales team to continue to grow its service offering to customers.
The three-story Edwardian building, which was originally built by Cargo Fleet Iron Company in 1916, was formerly the headquarters of British Steel Teesside and then subsequently Redcar and Cleveland Council.
Craig Jordison of SES Multi Metal Stock, said: “Being in the metal industry ourselves the history of the building was a draw for us to see the refurbishment. As soon as we saw the quality of the work that had been done we made the decision to move.
“The office now gives us the space we need to accommodate our continued plans for expansion in the North East. We have been in Middlesbrough for more than 10 years and are now looking forward to our next 10.”
The company’s move into Cargo Fleet Offices coincides with the anniversary of the building’s reopening a year ago into business premises. There is also a Heritage Gallery, bistro, plus 200 secure car parking spaces, a manned reception and conference facilities within the building.
Peter Broome, partner at Python Properties, said: “We are delighted that within one year since Cargo Fleet Offices reopened its doors we are welcoming our tenth tenant to the property, and how appropriate it is for a metal firm to take up tenancy.
The history of Cargo Fleet Offices is renowned and it is testament to its reputation that SES Multi Metal Stock has chosen the building to expand in the North East.“
Flexible lease terms, including break clauses and rent free periods, are available at the property and bespoke office suites can be created, ranging in size from 500 sq ft to 12,000 sq ft. Rents for Cargo Fleet Offices are highly competitive at £8.50 sq ft, with a service charge of circa £2.75 sq ft.
