Big help small at Hartlepool Business Breakfast

AN EXCITING new event to help small businesses win contracts from big companies will be launched in Hartlepool on Thursday morning.

Wilton Group CEO Bill Scott will officially open the first Hartlepool Business Breakfast at The Innovation Centre, on Queens Meadow, by giving an insight into how SMEs can win work from large local companies.

The North East Business Executive of the Year, The Entrepeneur’s Forum’s North East Business Executive of the Year and Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year, built what is now known as The Wilton Group from scratch with a £15,000 loan from the bank. He now employs over 700 people with bases all across the world.

Samantha Lee, from PR company Publicity Seekers, who are organising the event, said: “We are absolutely delighted Bill has agreed to come along and speak at our first Hartlepool Business Breakfast. He is such a down-to-earth guy who has done so well, not only for himself and The Wilton Group, but right across Teesside and the North East.

“He is passionate about helping small businesses realise their potential and whenever I talk to him I always come away with such enthusiasm for business.”

The Hartlepool Business Breakfast was initially formed to bring together the 50 plus businesses on Queens Meadow, but it is open to any small business wanting to network and get advice on winning new contracts.“

Samantha added: “The theme of the Hartlepool Business Breakfasts is winning business from big companies.

“We are in talks with a number of big concerns in the region such as The Power Station, Heerema, JDR Cables, Hartlepool Borough Council and Tees Valley Unlimited for future events which will be held on the first Thursday of every month.

“We’re keen to see business kept in the region and so decided that the best way was to get companies talking to each other over breakfast.”

The Hartlepool Business Breakfast will be held in Hub 1, The Innovation Centre, Queens Meadow Business Park 7.30-9am. To register to attend contact Samantha Lee on 0845 226 91 26, email slee@publicityseekers.co.uk, Tweet @samlee100 or search on Eventbrite.
