TechHub to open at new Manchester site
Manchester is set to reveal its own TechHub start-ups incubation scheme which will open in November.
Entrepreneurs will benefit from a central location next to the “Piccadilly Basin” area surrounding the city’s main train station.
TechHub Manchester will gather technology start-ups from around the North of England, after the TechHub in London opened two years ago and a Latvian base was established at the beginning of 2012.
The North West site will open with a “Hackathon” event that will bring businesses together to design and create new ventures within 54 hours.
TechHub provide workspaces for burgeoning companies to build their businesses in the technology innovation field.
Co-founded by experienced tech business heads, Doug Ward and Shaun Gibson started up online resource Tech Britain, Ben Hookway is a technology entrepreneur several times over, and Martin Bryant is managing editor for tech blog, The Next Web.
TechHub said: “We’re very excited to add Manchester to the growing community of TechHub locations, which already includes London and Riga.”
“As part of the TechHub global community, all TechHub members (regardless of home city) will have access to workspace at each TechHub.”
Businesses will be able to sign up to TechHub Manchester from the middle of November this year.
