Aspire Celebrates One Trinity Green Contract

The construction of a £5.4m business incubator unit in South Shields has led to a significant contract win for North East managed services provider Aspire Technology Solutions.

Gateshead-based Aspire successfully beat off stiff competition to secure the One Trinity Green contract valued at around £150k which covers the provision of high speed internet access, wireless connectivity and a state-of-the-art IP telephony platform for service users of the building.

Located on the former Circatex site at Eldon Street in South Shields, One Trinity Green has 41 flexible office, workshop and hybrid units spread over three stories and 30,000 sq ft of floor space. The building is providing managed workspace and business support for new and growing companies in the low carbon and environmental sectors and is one of only a handful in the country to meet the highest environmental standard of BREEAM ‘outstanding’. Meanwhile, the project is benefiting from £2,466,500 invested by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), managed by the Department for Communities and Local Government.

Of the prestigious project, Michael Errington, Sales Director for Aspire, said: “Tenants of the new landmark incubator unit can take advantage of a 100Mb internet connection, the installation of which has helped to ensure that South Tyneside is one of the best connected locations in the UK for start-up and growing businesses.

“This is backed up by a resilient Ethernet First Mile service running over an alternative network, thereby ensuring continuity for tenants in the event of an internet connection failure which is an excellent selling point for potential tenants because One Trinity Green is one of very few that can offer this level and range of ICT services and Disaster Recovery.

“One Trinity Green also benefits from a hosted Mitel® IP telephony platform, providing service users with cutting-edge communications and the greatest functionality available in the market. Moreover, all office units within the Incubator are equipped with a range of desktop devices that are among the lowest consumers of power in the industry, further adding to the green credentials of the flagship project.”

Councillor Michael Clare, Lead Member Regeneration & Economy for South Tyneside Council, added: “One Trinity Green is an iconic building for the Borough, as it represents the business vision for South Tyneside. Its award winning environmentally friendly architecture will provide a stunning location for present and future business pioneers.

“South Tyneside is recognised for its engineering and manufacturing excellence with One Trinity Green being a benchmark for business successes to come. The appointment of Aspire Technology Solutions symbolises the Council’s procurement commitment to bringing in North East service providers on local building projects.”

Headquartered in Gateshead and with sites in South Tyneside and Central London, Aspire is an award-winning managed services company specialising in hosted services, data centre solutions, communications and traditional IT outsourcing. Established in 2006, Aspire has grown steadily year on year to become a £3m business with a 32-strong workforce.
