Hotel Indigo sponsors presenter Philippa Tomson for CHUF
The £20m upscale Hotel Indigo Newcastle was proud to sponsor a former local TV presenter for the BUPA Great North Run on Sunday. Award-winning television presenter and journalist Philippa Tomson was sponsored by the hotel, in order to run the half marathon on behalf of The Children’s Heart Unit Fund (CHUF) and Ark on the Edge.
The Children’s Heart Unit Fund (CHUF) is a charity based at Newcastle Freeman Hospital and is one of only two centres in the UK offering paediatric heart transplant and bridge to transplant. Ark on the Edge is an animal sanctuary surrounded by picture postcard countryside in County Durham. It provides the perfect environment for sick animals to thrive and recover with 24/7 care.
Philippa, who recently joined the national Sky News team, commented: “I was delighted to be part of such an iconic mass participation event whilst fundraising for my two favourite charities. I would like to thank Hotel Indigo Newcastle for their generous donation.”
Adam Munday, general manager of Hotel Indigo Newcastle also commented: “We are always looking for ways to support our preferred charity, The Children’s Heart Unit Fund (CHUF) and Philippa provided us with a fantastic opportunity to help raise their national profile. She did incredibly well and Hotel Indigo were delighted to step in and support with a donation of £1,000 to start the fundraising.”
