Investors in People Silver for Hadrian Healthcare Group

Hadrian Healthcare Group, which has its head office in Gateshead and eight residential homes providing nursing and dementia care for elderly people across the north of England, has achieved the Investors in People Silver award at the first attempt.

Investors in People is the recognised standard framework by which businesses and organisations can judge their development and working practices.

Fewer than 600 organisations across the UK hold the Silver award. Of those there are around 15 in the elderly residential care sector.

Jas Gill, managing director for Hadrian Healthcare Group said: “The company has grown quickly over the last three years and we now have almost 600 employees.

“We believe in our people and we aim to be the employer of choice for the best staff across all roles from nursing to maintenance.”

Penny Macnair, operations director for Hadrian Healthcare Group said: “We wanted to measure the effectiveness of what we were doing in training and development, team working and management.

“The Investors in People process has been invaluable. It has confirmed what we’re doing well and pinpointed where we can improve.

“The Silver award shows we are on the right track and we’re delighted to have achieved it. We’ll be implementing the recommendations from the assessment over the next few months.”

Grant Hamilton, Investors in People specialist for idg, the official partner for Investors in People in the North of England said: “Achieving Investors in People Silver demonstrates a progressive approach to business improvement through people, cascading best practice through every level of the organisation.

“Hadrian Healthcare Group has a number of excellent processes, practices and procedures developed to drive performance improvement in the delivery of person-centred care.

“The company has a culture and ethos that encourages continuous improvement and expectations that people will challenge the way things work and develop new approaches to meet the needs of individual residents, their relatives and external agencies such as GP practices and referral agencies.”
