Green energy company UFW expands into North East

Leading green energy company UFW Ltd has expanded into the North East with the appointment of a new dedicated area sales manager.

Mark Pearson will be based in Newcastle and will work on a range of renewable energy projects across the North East and Yorkshire regions.

Mark, 44, is a qualified heating engineer with more than 20 years of experience in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) industry.

He joins from Rehau, where he spent two years as an area sales manager, working on a range of commercial underfloor and plumbing systems. Prior to that Mark worked for Uponor for seven years, involved with the sales, design and specification of underfloor heating, plumbing and pre-insulated services.

UFW Ltd specialises in the design, specification and supply of renewable energy systems, from ground and air source heat pumps to solar PV, rainwater harvesting and biomass.

Mark, who lives in Ryton, said: “This is a great opportunity as UFW Ltd is a fast growing company with ambitions to match my own. Much of the North East region is off the gas network, which means property owners are reliant on oil – green energy systems such as heat pumps are therefore a great way to massively reduce fuel bills.

“Renewable energy is also still a mystery to many people, so my role is as much about education and training as it is sales. I have worked closely with plumbers, builders, engineers, consultants and property owners, giving presentations on how energy efficient products work and their benefits.”

Midlands-headquartered UFW Ltd works across a range of sectors, including commercial, residential, agricultural, social housing, hospitality and education.

UFW Ltd managing director Nigel Parkes said: “Having a dedicated area manager for the North East will really help us to capitalise on a wide range of installation opportunities, and will allow the business to nurture much stronger relationships with our customers.

“Mark has a wealth of experience in the heating and plumbing industry and having worked in the region for many years has built up a strong list of contacts. We are delighted to have him on board and look forward to working on some excellent green energy projects.”
