Cirrus Environmental Solutions finds perfect working environment

A North East environmental and health and safety consultancy has outgrown its office space three times in the last seven years and is now looking to move into even bigger premises.

Cirrus Environmental Solutions Ltd was established in 2005, moved into the North East Business and Innovation Centre (BIC) in the same year and now takes residence in office space three times the size of the original office.

The business provides a service to industry to ensure that companies comply with ever tightening health and safety and environmental legislation. Working in partnership with their clients, Cirrus offer a range of workplace and environmental monitoring services to protect both the employer and the employee.

Services include air and noise monitoring, ventilation testing, hand arm vibration testing and assessment, asbestos management and monitoring of process emissions. Director, Stuart Hovvels said:

“The business is thriving even in this economic climate and our sales continue to grow month on month. We have invested heavily in our IT and management systems and are always looking for ways to evolve and adapt to make ourselves more efficient at meeting the needs of our clients.

“We have a brand new team in place bringing a wealth of knowledge, experience and enthusiasm with them. The dynamics have changed and it’s a really exciting time.

“We serve predominantly within the manufacturing industry and whilst this is unfortunately an industry which is currently facing hard times, both our client base and our workload continues to increase.

“We believe that this is a result of a clear understanding of our client’s needs. The business mainly focuses within the North East but we have contracts throughout the UK, from Aberdeen in the North to Southampton in the South, and have even been overseas to offer our expertise in Finland and Spain.

“Before moving to the BIC I visited a number of business centres in the North East. I knew that we needed office space, a laboratory environment and a separate storage area to start. With the sole exception of premises at the BIC, none were deemed suitable without significant and costly modification.

“The BIC was and still is an attractive, professional and modern location. It is close to all road networks and we have full access to conference or interview rooms and a range of administrative and technical support. There is ample free parking and to top it all off is the service we receive from the staff. They are always happy to help and offer assistance where required.

“It is a pleasant working environment; we would be foolish to move away from here. I would recommend the BIC without hesitation to both start-up and established businesses alike.”

Donna Surtees said: “It is always lovely to hear when one of our tenants continues to experience growth year after year whilst remaining here at the BIC.

“Cirrus Environmental Solutions is just one example of a North East business that is making an impact at local and national level and I look forward in working with them in the near future to source bigger space again.”
