Thomson and Laterooms.com owner has strong summer
TUI Travel, the owners of Thomson and Laterooms.com has reported strong trading throughout the summer season.
The West Sussex based group said most of its programmes were almost fully sold, and performance remained on track to meet full year expectations.
TUI’s Accommodation & Destinations sector has acquired Brazilian booking site MalaPronta.com, as part of the company’s strategy to position themselves in emerging markets.
Peter Long, Chief Executive of TUI Travel PLC, commented “We are very pleased with our Summer 2012 performance, with most of our programmes now almost fully sold. High demand in the peak Summer period, driven by our strategy of differentiated and exclusive product distributed online, has resulted in strong lates margins and load factors.
In a trading update, the company also said there had been an “encouraging” start to the winter season bookings.
