Lanway signs for Burnley FC
Lanway, the IT solutions and communications specialist, has secured a contract to provide total IT support to Burnley Football Club.
The deal, which was formalised after a successful three month trial period, will see the football club completely outsource its IT management to Lanway. This includes 24/7 monitoring of Burnley’s systems, as well as hardware provision and cover. The contract is expected to save the club 25% on its annual IT costs.
Lanway will also offer extra out of hours support on match days when the IT infrastructure comes under more strain, due to extra demand on the ticketing and wireless networks.
This is the latest deal in a long-term partnership between Burnley FC and Lanway, which began when the IT specialist sponsored the club’s shirt between 2001 and 2004.
Andrew Henderson, managing director at Lanway, commented: “Our relationship with Burnley FC stretches back many years so we’ve really been able to get under the skin of its operations. Consequently, we’ve been able to deliver a tailored solution that ticks all the boxes.
“Businesses are increasingly turning to outsourced IT, due to the cost and resource savings on offer. The ongoing support provides piece of mind too.”
“We’re very proud as a Burnley business to be serving the local football team – we’ll do our bit in the push for promotion back to the Premier League!”
Doug Metcalfe, Burnley FC’s stadium manager said: ‘The new, support arrangement will look after all of our day-to-day IT operations, and is a significant and strategic decision taken by the club. We’re delighted with how the relationship with Lanway is developing, specifically relating to the response times and technical expertise on hand to support our business operations.“
