competition for schools and universities

For the second year running, [Casio](http://www.casio-projectors.eu/uk/? target=) is launching its national competition for schools and universities, [Bright Minds Enterprise](http://casiobrightminds.co.uk/? target=). This year’s competition, in association with [Young Enterprise](http://www.young-enterprise.org.uk/? target=), will encourage students and schools to submit their ideas for a new business, invention, product or service to win over £10,000 worth of prizes, including an exclusive business start-up package and range of Casio products.

Bright Minds 2011 focused on the visual arts and creativity, making it hugely popular with schools and attracting entries from all corners of the United Kingdom. The winner, Thameside Junior School in Essex, impressed the panel of judges — which included designer Wayne Hemingway — with its film interpretation of the Michael Morpurgo book The Butterfly Lion.

The UK’s largest business and enterprise education charity, Young Enterprise, has helped over 3.8 million children by connecting them to participating businesses. Similarly, Bright Minds Enterprise is all about showcasing and encouraging future Apprentice or Dragons’ Den-style business thinkers – the next generation of British business leaders.

‘There are over 3,500 businesses already signed-up to Young Enterprise, so there’s real recognition of the role young people can play in the future of innovation and the economy,’ said Paul Eastham, Head of Communications at Young Enterprise.

The lucky few who get through to the semi-finals of Bright Minds Enterprise will be treated to an all-expenses paid trip to London, where they will pitch their ideas to Casio and Young Enterprise’s panel of top judges from the business and education worlds. The winning entry will then be given a variety of resources to help them get their idea off the ground.

‘This year we’re looking to make Bright Minds Enterprise even bigger,’ says Tim Gould, Casio’s Marketing Manager, ‘so this is a call to every budding Mark Zuckerberg or Richard Branson to enter your business ideas and products. It could be the launch pad you need to transform your distant dream into a world-beating business.’

The competition opens is now open to all students at UK schools, colleges and universities and entries can be submitted through Casio Projectors [Facebook page](http://www.facebook.com/CasioProjectors/app_307326279375311“ target=) or at [casiobrightminds.co.uk](http://casiobrightminds.co.uk“ target=). All entries must be submitted by 5pm on 23 November 2012.
