Expert advice for budding inventors

Budding inventors are invited to learn more about how to successfully turn their product ideas into a commercial success, at a free workshop being held in Hook this October.

The ‘New product development & commercialisation: from concept to customer’ workshop is being led by leading product development specialists Bang Creations International, working in partnership with the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS).

Bang Creations International works with businesses, entrepreneurs and inventors to successfully take new product ideas from concept to customer. The company has helped to design and develop hundreds of product ideas across a diverse range of market sectors, including entertainment, retail, leisure, technology and gaming.

At the interactive full-day workshop, attendees will receive practical advice on taking a new product idea through from creation, to design, product development and commercialisation.

Anyone with an interest in creating and marketing a new product is invited to attend, with the topics covered spanning from research and design, to development, patenting and protection.

“Hampshire is a hub of innovation and we’re delighted to be able to offer our expert advice and insights into the new product design and development process,” explains Alan Ward, director at Bang Creations.

“We are increasingly hearing from successful and established business people who have noticed a clear need within their market. They have an idea for a product to meet that need but are unsure how to progress their idea and what considerations they need to make to ensure it is a viable, commercial product. That is where we can help.

“Attendees can expect to leave the workshop with a clearer understanding and practical advice that they can apply to their own business or product idea.”

Richard Teal, value engineering specialist from MAS South East, said: “We had a fantastic response to a similar event we held earlier in the year, so we’re delighted to be able to offer local businesses and inventors another chance to learn how to make their product ideas a success.”

MAS, which is funded by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and delivered by Grant Thornton, provides support for manufacturing and product based businesses based in England to help them improve and grow.

The ‘New product development & commercialisation: from concept to customer’ workshop is being held on Friday 26 October at the EEF offices on Station Road in Hook, from 9-3.30pm. To attend please contact Alan Ward on 07715 404213 or email Alan@bangcreations.co.uk. Places are limited.
