FIRM CELEBRATES ANNIVERSARY WITH RECORD PERIOD OF GROWTH?

Fabricom Offshore Services celebrates its fifth anniversary this month. This milestone coincides with a time of significant growth and recognition for the company, both regionally and nationally, and shows the Tyneside-based engineering firm resolutely on track to further boost jobs and training opportunities over the coming months.

Since setting up its business in Newcastle in 2007 Fabricom Offshore Services, a subsidiary of global energy company Fabricom Oil Gas and Power, has gone from strength to strength. It has recently added one of the UK’s foremost oil and gas players, EnQuest Britain Limited to its portfolio of clients, an already distinguished list which includes high profile names Maersk Oil North Sea UK Limited, Talisman Energy (UK) Limited and GDF Suez E&P.

The past year has proved to be a record year for Fabricom Offshore Services, showing significant growth in all areas of the business. Drawing on a rich heritage of high-quality engineering expertise based on Tyneside, the company has consistently demonstrated a capacity to deliver great results for its clients. They have secured a long term lease on their Head Office building at Quroum Business Park , Newcastle, opened an office on the Belasis Hall Technology Park in Teesside and have recently established a growing team in Aberdeen. Staffing levels have doubled in the last 12 months with August’s figures showing just over 300 personnel working across the three locations. It is a growth that the company are confident will continue with an expected number of 400 staff members in place by 2014.

The anniversary also coincides with the graduation of three of Fabricom’s apprentices who will, with Fabricom’s assistance, begin studying for engineering degrees in the new academic year. Over the past five years the company has placed a heavy emphasis on the mentoring and support of trainees, graduates and apprentices. This month sees a further intake of both apprentices and graduates across the whole of Fabricom’s business, demonstrating the investment that the company is prepared to make in developing its staff.
