Free tickets to region?s biggest business event

North East firms can pick up free tickets online to the region’s biggest networking event.

Thousands of visitors are set to hit next month’s North East Expo which will take place at Newcastle Racecourse on November 7, where 220 companies will be exhibiting.

Top exhibitors at this year’s event include Newcastle United, Newcastle City Council, Sunderland AFC, SAGE Gateshead, Cruise Holidays, Devere Hotel Group, Allied Irish Bank, CCS Mobile, Holiday Inn Group, Northumberland County Council and Bdaily.

Based on previous expos, companies can expect to mingle with around 2000 visitors from across the region who are all looking to generate new business and promote their services.

The North East Expo event is free to attend but registration is recommended via the website. The Expo is now a major event on the region’s business calendar, having run twice a year for the last three years.

Event organiser Lorraine Gordon said: “It just seems to get bigger every time as word spreads across the region. We have businesses large and small from across the North East attending and judging by registrations on the website we expect to top the 2000 attendees mark for the first time which is fantastic.”

Events like this cut through the doom and gloom out there and prove that the North East really is open for business.“ As well as businesses promoting their services, there will be series of talks and seminars running throughout the day. Speakers include public speaking expert Simon Bucknall, twice winner of the Toastmasters UK & Ireland Championship of Public Speaking, who will reveal the secrets to giving a top presentation. He will be joined by ITV’s Biggest Loser Kevin McLernon who will be telling his inspirational weight loss story with a business twist. Kevin will be giving an insightful workshop on a journey through hope, despair, euphoria and sadness as he shed weight under the eye of TV cameras.

He said: “I was running a successful business but putting my health at risk as I piled on the pounds. Something had to change and it did. The weight-loss experience is certainly one that has carried over into my business life. Losing the weight was all about setting targets and goals and not achieving things overnight.

“In business it is important, no matter what the size of the company, to have a clear plan and a route map of how to get there.”
