Brewer experiences healthy European growth
UK-based international brewer SABMiller saw encouraging growth in lager volumes across its European market.
9% growth in lager volumes in Europe was driven by selective price reductions, and particularly strong growth in Poland around the Euro 2012 tournament, along with the growth of economy brands in Romania.
The positive results overshadowed slower growth in Africa and Latin America, where lager volumes grew 6% and 4% respectively.
In the US, the firm’s Coors Light, Leinenkugal and Blue Moon delivered growth, and 5% growth in the UK was driven by continued growth of its Peroni Nastro Azzurro brand.
