Football Lounge Kicks Off In Style
ONE of the North East’s most popular conference and banqueting venues has unveiled its latest development – a luxurious new business lounge.
Sunderland AFC has transformed its former Durham Suite into an executive business lounge following a major investment. The new lounge which includes leather banquette seating and stylish lighting, will be used for hospitality on matchdays but is also seen as the perfect option for organisations and companies wanting to host meetings, seminars and presentations.
The lounge was officially unveiled to business people from across the region recently, who were amazed at the transformation. “It looks absolutely incredible,” said David Cook fromSunderlandaccountancy company, TTR Barnes.
“In fact it’s hard to remember what it was like before because it looks so different. It is incredibly impressive and has been extremely well done.”
His words were echoed by David Jackson of Dickinson Dees solicitors. “It looks great,” he said.
“It’s an excellent location to have a meeting at and very different from anything else in the region.”
David Martin from Durham-based Banks Group, said that the new lounge had an “extremely warm atmosphere.” “It’s the perfect balance of somewhere that looks stylish but where you could quite happily have a business meeting, he said, “They’ve got it absolutely right.”
The creation of the lounge comes as part of SAFC’s continued strategy to drive conferences and events at the Stadium of Light and outside of the club, through the creation of its outside events arm, 1879 Events Management.
“The reaction so far to the new Executive Business Lounge has been phenomenal,” said Gary Hutchinson, the club’s Commercial Director.
“We’ve created a modern but practical lounge which has any number of uses. Away from matchdays it will be known as the Executive Lounge and with no other venue like it in the area, it’s perfect for conferences and event celebrations and evening parties.”
