Fantastic lineup for ABCExpo
The ABCExpo takes place this Thursday, 1st November at The Excelsior Academy, Newcastle upon Tyne. See below for the fantastic lineup of speakers and activities taking place on the day:
Panel Events
Each panellist will speak for 5-10 minutes then open up for questions and answers.
10am Innovating Excellence - Roy Stanley & Elliot Ward - two distinctly different generational stories on making a major impact in business but never losing sight of their values. An exciting roller-coaster insight into manufacturing innovation and fast paced vehicle sales that includes all the highs and lows of two very varied entrepreneurial careers.
11am Life in the Fast Foodie Lane – Ahmed Khan, Shaban Suleman and Jalf Ali – Three visionary and very successful foodies, each with their own tastes. Hear the inspirational stories of a McDonalds Franchisee, an award winning food innovator through to an especially authentic and traditional, Indian restaurateurs. Learn of the passion and hunger of Newcastle’s finest dining experiences, whether your taste is Fast Food, Street Food or Majestic Banquets, their stories will leave you totally satisfied but yearning for more.
12 midday It’s a knock out – Steve Wraith – From an actor, presenter and entertainer, to event’s organiser and promoter hear a truly inspirational story from a local celebrity. Hear how Steve realised his dreams of acting after years of perseverance, hard work and support from close family. Having worked with Alan Shearer, Paul Gascoigne, Peter Shilton from the world of Football and Mike Tyson, Ricky Hatton and Roy Jones Jnr, Steve will be joined by local professional boxers including local hero Akash Hussian. There will surely be plenty of butterflies and bees buzzing around after this panel.
1pm Wonder Women – Ranjana Bell, Nicola Short, Anisha Malik, and Lesley Lister – From New York, London, China, and Newcastle’s West End, hear from our successful and diverse women in business. Equality and diversity expertise, entrepreneurial excellence propelling the Entrepreneurs Forum through innovative change, introducing a unique approach to property management at HM Residential and, developing an industry standard – the world’s first level 3 diploma in Fashion Modelling, accredited by City and Guilds – together with running the North’s most successful modelling agency, be wowed by our wonder women.
2pm The Art of Giving, Sharing and Caring – Hari Shukla, Philomena Marshall and David Faulkner – Community leadership, educational inspiration and an insight into the amazing world of arts and culture. The importance of giving, sharing and caring, will provide an understanding into the importance of introducing positive values in education that get results, charitable giving and an appreciation of the creative industries. Hearing from exemplary experts, true beacons for the whole of our society, the brightest fireworks going off early in November, feel stimulated, enthused and confident there are great things happening in our world.
3pm In the Community, For the Community – Dipu Ahad, Balal Ali, Stephen Savage & John Lee- A respected and councillor, an award winning entrepreneur and one of the last remaining furniture manufactures in the North East, Newcastle City Councils greatest ambassador regulating the city, and an inspirational visionary chief of one of the largest and most successful social housing providers in the world. In the Community, For the Community will hear how each and every one of our panellists help community cohesion through pioneering initiatives but more importantly offer comprehensive services that are inclusive, engaging and industry leading. Connecting, Supporting and, Promoting one another to make the world a better place, a heart-warming end to one of the greatest line-ups in ABC’s history.

12pm – An introduction to Tendering – Paul Tute Boomerang Consultancy
1.30pm – Marketing Madness The Art of Branding - Amair Mohammed and the Octopus Team with guest appearance from Mike Grahamslaw Director of North East Times.
Welcome to the largest Business to Community event ever hosted by ABC. There is an extraordinary extravaganza of entertainment, some superb seminars and a plethora of plutonic panel events.
We have business advice, support, and funding from a variety of organisations. Insights from industry experts, real people who have been there, got the t-shirt and then went on to make their own and sell them.
A whole host of charities are showcasing the difference they make to local communities.
We have Active Newcastle with their Smoothie bikes and dance mats. Pony Treks for the young and maybe old. Excelsior Academy are opening up their amazing facilities and hosting a variety of activities including drama displays, climbing wall, Hena artists, maths and bike challenges, together with Excel 5 showing the students incredible creations.
Model Boot Camp with Tyne Tees Models will be providing top hair and beauty tips, photography and modelling demonstrations.
FIN & Enterprising Newcastle will provide a practical workshop on setting up your own business. Boomerang Consultancy will offer an introduction to the wonderful world of tendering.
Octopus Media with special guests will showcase their brilliant branding and magical marketing insights and top tips.
Bdaily will be exhibiting on the day, so visit their stall to find out about Bdaily as a powerful news engine and marketing resource.
There are a number of funding organisations including our ABCExpo partner Investment for Growth, joined by teams from Growth Accelerator and NBSL all of whom have pots of money to help all businesses grow.
A large number of public sector support organisations providing advice and assistance, including Newcastle City Councils Regulatory Services and Public Protection that is responsible for a range of functions to protect the public, improve health and support businesses in the city. Your Homes Newcastle and associated companies including the Newcastle Furniture Service, Palatine, 1907, Community Care Alarms will show how they can help members from all communities providing a whole host of services.
Food will be served by Excelsior Academy’s creative catering team, and there will be additional treats like Candy Floss and Popcorn stalls.
