Thousands Eligible for Funding to Beat Rising Rates
North East residents could receive funding to make homes warmer
Carillion Energy Services (CES) has announced that funding is available this winter to North East residents to replace old inefficient boilers with a new, more energy efficient A-rated model under a new government initiative available now.
The initiative is open to those who own their own home or rent from a private landlord and are in receipt of certain benefits*. Upgrading from a G-rated boiler to an A-rated boiler will mean a warmer home and reduced energy bills of up to £300 a year for eligible people who take advantage of the offer.
The funding comes from the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) initiative designed to reduce energy consumption in Britain by funding energy improvements in the home. ECO is due to start in January 2013; Carillion Energy Services has secured advanced funding to assist eligible households now. The ECO programme aids in reducing carbon emissions (CO2) through improved energy efficiency, helping protect the environment whilst also offering people reduced fuel bills and warmer homes.
Paul Bowens, Account Director, from Carillion Energy Services said: “As the winter months close in, a warm comfortable home becomes a necessity not a luxury, but for many people rising fuel rates mean that it is a necessity some people simply can not afford.
“The new ECO initiative recognises that people may need help and offers the opportunity to reduce heating bills as well as protect the environment, so we are urging people who qualify to get in touch and get the help they are entitled to this winter”.
North East residents that may be eligible for help will receive a letter from Carillion Energy Services with more details of the offer and a full list of eligibility criteria. If you do not receive a letter and think you may qualify for ECO funding, or would simply like further information, contact Carillion Energy Services free on 0800 4087651 (Mon-Friday 8:00 – 18:00 and Sat 9:00 – 17:00).
