New role for construction professional

Peter Galbraith of Ponteland has been appointed construction director at the recently launched social enterprise company, 4041, which provides practical learning experience for its young workforce in the fields of construction and property maintenance.

He is responsible for securing new work as well as the timely delivery of all 4041 contracts which includes providing initial surveys, producing estimates and managing the supervisors who help to train and assess those employees who are on differing levels of training programmes or apprenticeships working on the various construction projects.

The role is certainly a big change for Peter who brings to the company 24 years of experience working in the construction Industry in various sectors including education, social housing, healthcare, affordable housing and listed building refurbishment to name a few. Peter, who worked previously as contracts manager for a National building firm before joining 4041, commented:

“I was delighted to accept this new role. We have a strong workforce, predominantly made up of young people who are starting out in their chosen careers, so it is quite challenging, yet it gives me real satisfaction knowing that I am able to put something back into the industry. We have a healthy order book and I am committed to ensuring 4041 becomes a front runner in delivering a good quality, practical learning experience for our employees from the outset which will help construction within the region.

“We are passionate about helping young people yet at the same time, providing value for money and ensuring a positive customer experience.”

4041 is currently working on a wide range of domestic and commercial construction projects throughout the region which includes the construction of a bungalow and various other new build and refurbishment schemes.
