The Links Group Backs Dubai World Expo2020 Bid
PRESS RELEASE
The Links Group Backs Dubai World Expo 2020 BidDubai, UAE, 13th November 2012: The Links Group, leaders in company formation in the Middle East for 10 years, gets behind the UAE’s plans to host World Expo 2020 in Dubai by becoming a bid supporter.
With more than 300 registered companies in its portfolio and direct access to foreign trade promotion agencies, government departments and international businesses, The Links Group hopes its active promotion of Dubai World Expo 2020 across its extensive network will help galvanise further support of the bid.
“As a company founded in UAE 10 years ago, The Links Group has immense confidence in the leadership of the country and its future as a regional business hub. We take great pride in publically promoting the country that has supported us for so long,” said John Martin St. Valery, Founder and CEO, The Links Group.
Embracing the bid theme “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”, The Links Group will incorporate all World Expo 2020 marketing materials into its business development collateral. It will also make the World Expo 2020 bid a key talking point at its many international speaking engagements to further highlight Dubai’s attractiveness as a potential host city.
According to Martin St. Valery, Dubai’s World Expo 2020 bid platform represents a strong opportunity to unite local businesses in their recognition of the UAE’s economic progress.
“In our view, backing the bid is a badge of honour that can deepen local business connections while celebrating the country’s success stories. We can all play a part in making Dubai’s bid successful. When initiated at a company level, backing the bid also becomes a great morale booster,” he said.
The World Expo, one of the oldest and largest international events (established in 1851), takes place every five years in different cities around the globe and lasts for six months. A key meeting point for the global community to share innovations and make progress on issues of international importance; each World Expo is also a catalyst for economic, cultural and social transformation that generates important legacies for the host city and nation.
Dubai is one of five cities competing to host the World Expo in 2020. The other candidate cities include: Ayutthaya (Thailand); Ekaterinburg (Russia); Izmir (Turkey); and Sao Paulo (Brazil).
“If Dubai wins the World Expo 2020 bid, we all win. Everyone should get behind it,” added Martin St. Valery.
