Science firm move into Rivergreen Centre
Upstream oil and gas company Ikon Science has recently expanded, resulting in a move of the GeoPressure division to Durham’s unique office space, the Rivergreen Centre.
A global leader in subsurface pressures, the move is a perfect fit for Ikon GeoPressure as it has strong research links to the Geology Department at Durham University.
Rivergreen Managing Director, Peter Candler, said: “We are pleased to welcome Ikon to the Rivergreen Centre. The business complements the companies already choosing to locate here and fully supports Rivergreen’s strategy to become one of the most creative and vibrant business hubs in the country, with low environmental impact.”
As a high quality, contemporary office building, the Rivergreen Centre is leading the way in sustainable design without compromising on technology. The space boasts the latest in environmental considerations including a ‘rammed earth wall’ as well as VOIP technology, 100MB broadband connection, high speed data networks and audio/visual facilities.
Stephen Jenkins, General Manager at Ikon Science explains the move: “Our move into the Rivergreen Centre is a significant expansion as we respond to high levels of demand on a global scale. The space is a perfect fit for us because of its environmental consideration and the sense of community fostered among the businesses already there. It’s somewhere we can be proud to bring our clients.”
Mr Candler continues: “The open atmosphere and easy movement around the centre creates natural opportunities for clustering and networking. Some organisations have chosen to locate here because of the presence of others with whom they regularly work or would like to work with.”
The centre has a range of conference and meeting facilities and aims to organise a range of events for those in the office space in the near future. For more information on the Rivergreen Centre and those working there you can visit http://www.rivergreencentredurham.co.uk/.
