Tachometer business charts 25 years of driving success

An innovative Tyneside business that has helped the transport and haulage industry track thousands of driving hours, mileage and fuel consumption is celebrating a quarter of a century of progress by diversifying into the training sector and investing in new technology. Chartwise (UK) Ltd based on Gateshead’s Team Valley has established itself as one of the transport industry’s leading suppliers of tachograph data analysis thanks to years of constant improvement, utilising new technology and delivering good customer service. Now however, the business is gearing up for the next 25 years by adapting to changes in the transport industry and the needs of end users such as haulage firms, fleet operators and small businesses who operate vehicles. MD Paul King, (32) who also has an internet digital, marketing and technology company took over Chartwise in 2010 with his father David (62) after seeing the potential to use his online skills to develop the business. Now, with the benefit of King’s marketing expertise the business has grown further offering transport related training designed to increase safety and ensure compliance with transportation rules and regulations. As well as benefitting from industry standard courses including Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) and Driver Digital Tachograph training, Chartwise’s clients are also experiencing considerable cost savings by using new digital tracking devices to monitor their vehicle movements across the UK. “The technology we use to track vehicle movements is giving employers and fleet owners the right data to manage their transport fleet more effectively,” said Mr King. “In short, our detailed data analysis is allowing any business with a vehicle to manage it with the minimum of effort at the same time as saving on fuel, manpower costs and increasing the safety of the vehicle and its occupants.” The tracking devices allows users to track their individual vehicle mileage, pinpoint locations to building level and receive alerts when services or MOTs are due. With many of today’s lease vehicles having rigid annual mileage limits , the digital monitoring of mileage allows users to keep track of excess mileage and to take preventative action such as rotating vehicles to spread out the mileage between fleet vehicles. “I’ve seen the technology move in leaps and bounds since I joined the business just two years ago but compared with 25 years ago, it’s a totally different world. We’re looking forward to seeing what the next 25 years will bring Chartwise and the haulage industry.” Ends Photo shows: Paul with new technology and dad David with old (plus reversed shot) More info from or Highlights PR Keith Newman on 07814 397951 or Chartwise http://www.chartwise-online.com/ 0191 491 5032
