JD Sports see sales growth
JD Sports have experienced growth in like-for-like sales across the 16 weeks to November 17.
A statement from the firm said: “The trading environment in our markets remains tough and particularly so for the Fashion Fascias. This is reflected in the split of the like-for-like sales in the sixteen week period, being Sports Fascias +3.5% and Fashion Fascias -6.6%.”
The company remained positive about the turnaround of outdoor retailer Blacks, acquired in January, and said the “early signs are encouraging for the future.”
Former Cotswold Outdoor buying and merchandising director, Ken Reeve joined Blacks as managing director this month.
JD Sports said the outcome for the year remains dependent on Christmas performance, particularly over the last two weeks of December.
