Nordic cleans up at prestigious awards
A leading cleaning and training firm which specialises in environmental services has landed one of the highest accolades in the cleaning industry for the second year in succession.
Nordic Pioneer, based in Darlington, has been awarded the Eric Hill Award 2012 in collaboration with the City & Guilds Institute and the Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners.
The award recognises Nordic for achieving the highest number of successful candidates in the year 2011 / 2012 and acknowledges the company’s groundbreaking work within the cleaning sector.
However, instead of the award’s £500 cash-prize being used to boost Nordic’s bank balance, it will be put towards the company’s first employee awards to recognise their hard work.
Last year the business made a similar gesture by using its winnings to launch its first student apprentice awards.
Chairman Peter Robinson said: “We were honoured to receive the Eric Hill Memorial award for the second year running.
Winning this major industry accolade, which is very rarely achieved, once again makes us realise how valued our work is and drives us to continue providing the best possible services within our sector.
“This award is due to the efforts of our entire team, and I would therefore like to say a massive ‘thank you’ to everyone involved in helping us to achieve it.
“Nordic will be putting the £500 prize money towards 10 employee and apprentice award categories, with £50 presented to the winner of each.
The firm, which operates across the UK from its North East headquarters, has been involved in the cleaning industry since 1994, working mainly with local authorities and their main contractors.
