Cyber Monday Wrap Up!
Cyber Monday broke records for us at Ve Interactive.
Yesterday’s online shopping spike saw an uplift of 62 percent in the daily average of the remarketing emails we send out those clients’ customers who have abandoned their shopping carts mid-transactions.
With our ability to do nuanced marketing communications, a result of our advanced criteria filtering, a record number of re-engagement and remarketing messages, all contextualised and optimised were sent out, creating the most personalised communication possible, and allowing our merchants to converse with their abandoned consumers ’in the moment.
’Digital intelligence is a top priority at Ve Interactive. We prioritise providing real insight for our cart recovery clients and continually supply them with tools to assist them in embedding this insight into their operations.
Cyber Monday has been a big date in the e-commerce calendar since 2005. It has been described as “the Superbowl of online shopping” by Jonathan Johnson, president of the bargain site Overstock.com. Indeed the National Retail Federation anticipated that over 129M consumers would take advantage of the online deals made available yesterday. comScore meanwhile predicted that Cyber Monday 2012 would generate an online spend of $1.5bn, up 20 percent from last year, while IBM predicted an increase of 27 percent.
So what were the results?
Well IBM came closest, tracking an increase of 28.4 percent in e-commerce sales compared to Cyber Monday of 2011. Sales from mobile devices came in at 10.1 percent.
It’s certainly a hectic time of year for the e-commerce and retail industries, and one where merchants can make up to 40 percent of their annual revenue. This heralds busy days for our Ve offices worldwide. And exciting days too! If you would like to learn more about cart recovery, remarketing and optimisation, and why this year our software and services have been honoured with three major industry awards. Just get in touch, we’d be delighted to assist you.
