Final chance to enter tadea's energy audit competition

Businesses in the region looking to increase efficiency and reduce their overheads have a last chance to enter tadea’s free energy audit competition.

The Billingham-based sustainability organisation has teamed up with Bdaily to offer three free energy audits to businesses in the North East. The audits could save organisations up to 20 per cent on their utility bills* – helping them to reduce running costs while simultaneously boosting their green credentials by cutting the size of their carbon footprint.

Businesses have until 5pm on December 7, 2012, to register for the competition.

The energy audits include a walk round survey assessing each organisation’s premises, including the boiler plant, building fabric, lighting system and controls. It will look at how the building occupiers operate their energy consuming equipment, hot water appliances and the equipment operating times. Following the audit, a recommendations report and Display Energy Certificate will be produced. The report will outline the ways in which the winning businesses can reduce their fuel bills as well as their carbon emissions.

David Morgan is tadea’s Commercial Manager. He says: “Increasing energy efficiency can be incredibly easy to do and the savings made can really mount up. Even making small changes to the ways in which electricity and gas are used can save businesses a lot of money. There are other measures that can be taken too, which we will outline in the energy audit reports that we provide to the winning businesses. We’ll also help with the information and support they need to make the most of what we suggest.

“Our competition is free to enter and signing up is easy to do, so we’re hoping to get as many businesses as possible to take part. The audits don’t take long to complete but the savings they help to bring about mount up over the months and years.”
