Global preview for new Succorfish crew safety product

Succorfish, one of the world’s leading providers of intelligent M2M data transfer technology and specialist GSM and satellite communication systems, has previewed its newest groundbreaking crew safety product at this year’s International Workboat Show in New Orleans, USA.

The show brought together the global maritime industry’s very best product designers, manufacturers and suppliers and was the ideal showcase for Succorfish to preview and demonstrate its latest and most innovative marine safety device; the SC4.

The state of the art search and rescue PLB/AIS SART beacon securely fastens onto an individual’s upper arm or life jacket and has been designed to be worn at all times during operational activity. It offers worldwide coverage transmitting location over AIS and the global COSPAS SARSAT rescue network and has a local man overboard feature with a range of 25 miles from the vessel in clear conditions. The SC4 reliably operates in temperatures from -20c to +55c, is waterproof to a depth of 100 metres and offers real time GPS positioning to one metre worldwide.

The SC4 also provides an SOS L.E.D flashlight that is operational during all emergency transmission periods and its ‘Kickstart’ technology delivers the fastest known satellite signal no matter how faint. It auto-transmits the vessel’s name and live time man overboard location from which the signal originated via a secure online graphical user interface, and this allows rescue personnel to pinpoint exact location, eliminate unnecessary search areas and reduce time wasted therefore maximising recovery efforts.

Tom Rossiter, Succorfish Head of Marine commented, “This device could revolutionise marine safety as we know it as great attention has been paid to making it accessible, functional and fit for the intended purpose.

“It incorporates the most intelligent, cutting edge technology that has been rigorously tested and applied in the most harshest environments and its ability to significantly improve crew rescue time, recovery and success could make it the preferred choice worldwide.”

Succorfish’s new SC4 crew safety device complies with COSPAS SARSAT standards. For more details contact Succorfish USA office on tel: +1 (260) 438-1734 or its UK Head Office on tel: +44 (0) 191 447 6883, mob: 07718 191347 or alternatively email: tom@succorfish.com
