“Since we transferred from local authority control to private sector ownership at the start of October, we’ve had over 100 new companies join the ‘local’ movement – the fastest growth since it launched three years ago,” explained Peter Farmer, Director of TL4B and Managing Director of Grapevine.

“We wanted to recognise hitting the big four figure milestone by giving something back to one of our members, so came up with the idea of offering a PR and marketing prize worth in excess of £1000.”

He continued: “This will be a professional press release, social media support and free online advertising - all geared towards generating leads and increasing sales.”

Think Local 4 Business is free of charge to register for companies in Staffordshire, with each firm able to upload a profile that features contact details, description of services/products and the ability – like Facebook and twitter – to upload status updates, photos, videos and new discussions.

Businesses can access a specialist section to view and respond to a host of tender opportunities from local firms and, importantly, public sector organisations.

The website also offers a comprehensive source of information on business support, advice, news and events across the county.

“£50,000 of new business has been generated in the last month and we expect this figure to grow significantly following feedback from the Think Local 4 Business Show held recently,” explained James Roberts, Board Member.

“The 8-hour event was packed full of ideas to help support and grow local business as well as providing an excellent platform to showcase the skills and expertise we currently have across the county.”

Think Local 4 Business continues to be supported by local authorities, including East Staffordshire Borough Council, Lichfield District Council, South Staffordshire District Council, Stafford Borough Council and Tamworth Borough Council.
