NE company making a ?Splash? launches ?Factory? venture

Newton Aycliffe-based Splash Print Management has launched a new service for 2013 aimed specifically at SMEs wanting a quicker, easier and more cost-effective way to manage their marketing themselves using a simple website.

The Print Factory offers a high quality, efficient method for companies to access business cards, leaflets and other stationery via a new e-commerce website.

Splash Print Management carried out customer research into what the majority of SMEs required for their basic marketing materials. The results showed that the most important elements were fast, high quality business cards, leaflets and stationery such as letter heads and compliment slips.

The Print Factory uses modern printing processes to automate part of the print-buying process, driving down the cost of high quality printing to make it accessible and affordable for businesses and organisations of any size.

Sharon Hutchinson, who established Splash Print Management in January 2011, said: “The Print Factory is a straightforward way for SMEs to get their basic marketing needs at a good price. We found that while businesses liked the convenience of ordering online, they were often disappointed with the quality. Others found websites confusing with too many products and too many options. We have selected the most frequently ordered products for The Print Factory and due to the volume we buy, suppliers have been happy to give us substantial discounts, meaning our customers can buy the premium version of a product for less than they’d pay for the lesser quality on many other websites.

“This is another example of how we’re working to meet the changing needs of the North East business community as we go into the New Year. We speak regularly with a variety of companies to get feedback as to what they need. As we offer different services, this allows us to grow our own business and create new jobs and opportunities for people in the region. It’s all about staying one step ahead which we do try to do.”

Lucy Groves, who is heading up the project for Splash Print Management, said, “Business cards, stationery and leaflets lend themselves to automation very well as they are relatively simple. Customers often have artwork they are happy with and just want to be able to order at their convenience for these basic products.”

Splash Print Management specialises in tailored print management services for a variety of businesses and organisations all over the North of England. Based at Aycliffe Business Park, the company this year quadrupled its office space and taken on four new members of staff to cope with its growth.

The company works with businesses and organisations of all sizes to reduce print costs, improve their marketing operations and become more efficient. Splash was established by Sharon Hutchinson, from Newton Aycliffe, after recognising a gap in the market for print management services aimed at businesses of any size that wanted flexibility and to be able to work on a contract-by-contract basis.

Splash works with a wide cross-section of organisations by providing a free audit of their printing services and helps many to save up to 40% on print spend by sourcing the best suppliers for specific jobs.

The business has a strong network of local suppliers that offer the best rates depending on the job so that every project is assigned to the most suitable and cost-effective printer.

Splash works with businesses and organisations- large and small- in a variety of sectors, both public and private, providing marketing departments with expert advice on all areas of print.
