Businesses turning towards Secure Hosting
More businesses are turning to secure hosting plans according to a Pricewaterhouse Cooper’s 2012 survey of IT security breaches in the UK. During 2012, hackers were detected within the IT systems of one in seven large corporations. Nearly 75 percent of large businesses detected sophisticated attempts to break into their networks. All of the major corporations experienced an average of 54 cyber attacks. Hackers successfully broke into 15 percent of all of the major corporations. Large businesses are hit with an average of one cyber attack per week. Smaller businesses experience attempted cyber attacks on an average of once each month.
Phishing attacks using corporate impersonation tactics and identity fraud occurs several times each day, particularly within the UK financial services and government sectors. Sensitive information belonging to millions of clients is at risk of being stolen by hackers on a continual basis. Names, birth dates, personal addresses, email addresses and bank account information are seen as commodities by hackers who reap huge rewards from lax and flawed security.
Larger businesses are more prone to cyber attacks because they are larger targets; they draw more attention by having a greater presence. They have a higher number of employees which opens the door to more staff-related security breaches. The lack of adequate security has been particularly challenging for large UK businesses to address because they routinely share data with several peripheral corporate entities.
Countering the rising tide of security breaches, a growing number of businesses are benefiting from advanced security measures set in place by Everyware Switzerland. They expertise to design custom firewalls and advanced security devices tailored in response to current UK corporate security needs. Leading the way in developing and operating data centers, networks and server infrastructures, they are providing optimized performance and the highest availability as a highly secured single source provider.
