Drama at the Low Lights
A North Tyneside-based theatre company are looking for unusual local venues to attract a whole new audience to the dramatic arts and promote the North Tyneside area as a leading cultural centre.
‘Cloud Nine’ is well known for its original and off-the-wall productions and wants to bring performances to the public in new and unusual settings where they can be seen and enjoyed in everyday situations rather than traditional venues. They recently staged a play for early morning commuters on the Shields Ferry and walked and performed a production along the length of Hadrian’s Wall.
Cloud Nine’s fourth production ‘The Plughole (life goes down the drain)’ is a one-act piece of absurdist comedy written by the company’s artistic director, Peter Mortimer. It’s being staged at the Low Lights Tavern, Brewhouse Bank, North Shields on 29 January at 6pm and it’s hoped that it will help to develop North Tyneside’s unique and growing Pub Theatre culture.
