Peter Weldon Hails ?Big Catch? With New Director
The managing director and owner of one of the region’s longest-established accountancy practice has hailed the appointment of a new senior director as a vital step in the company’s continued growth.
David Fish has joined Peter Weldon & Co, immediately joining Peter Weldon himself and David Hunter as senior board members of the Ashington-based accountancy practice.
Fish, who has spent the previous 13 years at Newcastle accountancy practice RMT, says the opportunity to join Peter Weldon & Co was an opportunity too tempting to pass up.
The 32-year-old said: “The team at Peter Weldon & Co has been one I had long-respected, so when the chance presented itself to be a part of that, I jumped at it.
“The opportunity to play a key role in helping to shape the expansion and future direction is the one thing that really excites me about this position. Already, Peter, David and I have identified a number of ways to help Peter Weldon & Co explore some new prospects.”
Peter Weldon, who formed his accountancy and tax planning practice in Ashington, Northumberland, 22 years ago, said: “This is a tremendously exciting appointment which cements the long term growth plans of the business.
“David not only brings with him a tremendous depth of experience across the full range of accountancy disciplines, but with it a contemporary and fresh edge that brilliantly compliments the team we have here.”
Since leaving school in 1999 to take up a trainee accountants opportunity with RMT in central Newcastle, David has worked across a number of financial disciplines. Qualifying in AAT and then moved onto qualify as a chartered accountant and became a member of ICAEW, David has, most latterly, specialised in assisting a range of businesses with compiling corporate financing packages for growth.
Outside the office, David has two young sons, but still finds time to enjoy a new love of golf and watching his beloved Newcastle United.
With a team of 14 undertaking a range of roles across tax planning, accountancy, payroll and business and corporate financing, Peter Weldon & Co has become one of the most well-established chartered accountancy practices in the North East.
