Teeside graduate takes ICE award for exceptional performance

The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) North East has presented a Teesside University graduate with a prestigious annual award.

Arran Crawford received the ICE Prize 2012 for excellent performance during his studies towards a BEng Civil Engineering.

Arran, from Filey, near Scarborough, spent three years at Teesside University and undertook a second year placement with Northumbrian Water, where he worked with the maintenance manager and his team, gaining valuable advice and support.

After graduating, Arran took a job in project management with a manufacturing business in Filey, but is keen to explore the opportunity to put his civil engineering skills to use in the future.

He said: “I have enjoyed my time at Teesside University and was very proud to receive the ICE Prize, which is an excellent addition to my CV.”

ICE member and course leader Ciaran Flood, said: “Arran’s award is hugely justified. He took a professional approach to his degree studies and was very motivated and committed to the course. ICE North East wishes him well in the future and we are sure he will take what he has learned at Teesside University and use it to build an excellent career.”
