Will Blackberry be squashed?

The UK is the first to get the new “Z10” Blackberry. It doesn’t go on sale in the US until March. Curiously, Blackberry shares fell 6% following the launch.

For Blackberry makers Research in Motion, it could be the last chance they’ve got to crack the market share that Apple have snatched. The centrepiece of the new handset is its touchscreen technology.

But, does this demonstrate just how difficult it is to topple an innovative product that has become dominant? Surely Blackberry need to offer something radically different as opposed to repeating features their competitors already do well?
