Businesses remain vulnerable to cyber threats

Despite forecasts predicting that cyber threats will be the number one risk to businesses within the next two years[1], latest figures suggest that only 20 per cent of CEOs think it could happen to them[2], leaving many businesses unprepared and vulnerable to attack.

To help companies protect their data, Kaspersky Lab has launched the latest edition of its business security platform, Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business. With a range of new and enhanced features, the upgraded solution will enable firms to confidently manage a growing number of devices, implement mobility schemes and boost productivity, while reducing resource demands on their IT teams.

Kaspersky Lab’s expert security teams detect, analyse and respond to 200,000 new malicious programs every day, up from 70,000 a year ago. This explosive rate of growth places immense demands on over-stretched IT teams struggling to meet business demands for operational efficiency, a growing number of company and privately owned mobile devices in their networks and anytime, anywhere access to corporate information and systems.

The loss and theft of devices is becoming a serious threat to the security of business data. For example, at Frankfurt airport, 2700 computer devices and 1100 mobile phones are lost or found every year. Companies must be able to protect and control the data on all devices used for work, even once they have been lost.

In addition, the workforce is falling prey to sophisticated and stealthy attacks via email, social media and web browsing, with the number of mobile threats growing particularly fast. Classic anti-virus solutions no longer provide enough protection. In the face of such emerging threats, as well as business pressures to stay agile and efficient, organisations need strong security that does not slow the business down.

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business has been built from the ground up to address such challenges: to provide the deepest protection from malware and cybercrime and safeguard firms against the security risks of the latest business trends while being incredibly easy to implement and manage.

The simple premise of Kaspersky Security for Business is: See it. Control it. Protect it.

Key features of Kaspersky Lab Endpoint for Business include Mobile Security and Device Management (MDM), full-disk, file level and folder level data encryption, advanced endpoint control tools, award-winning malware protection and systems management. All these functions are easily managed centrally through Kaspersky Security Center, a powerful administrative console that unifies every aspect of Kaspersky Lab’s endpoint, file server and virtual infrastructure protection under one ‘pane of glass. It was especially designed to ease administrator’s lives.

“The trend towards consumer device use, mobile and remote working, and an increasing array of operating systems and platforms is resulting in a heterogeneous IT landscape riddled with vulnerabilities and resource-intensive to maintain” said Mathew Robinson, director of corporate sales at Kaspersky Lab. “Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business has been designed to address these IT realities. It is a single, unified platform that lets IT administrators see, control and protect all systems and endpoints in the network, whether it’s a PC down the hall, a virtual machine in another office, or a missing smartphone somewhere on a train.”

“Over the years Kaspersky Lab has steadily grown in both market sales and in technical capabilities,” said Charles Kolodgy, Research Vice President - Secure Products, IDC. “Last year’s overhaul of the company’s Endpoint Security offerings signalled that Kaspersky Lab was ready to compete for deals of all sizes. By offering critical capabilities like data encryption, mobile protection, and full system security management, Kaspersky Lab is poised to be a contender in almost all purchase considerations.”

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business is available in modular and scalable bundles, designed to accommodate a wide range of business needs and budgets. For more information visit: http://www.kaspersky.co.uk/business
