Durham County Council help Rebels ride in style
Rebels of Sweden is the latest business to choose County Durham as its UK base thanks to the help of Business Durham.
Rebels of Sweden, makers of innovative equestrian equipment were attracted to the County by Business Durham, the business gateway of Durham County Council. Business Durham works to actively attract companies to invest in the region, offering support to help businesses grow and boost the local economy.
Rebels (www.rebelsofsweden.co.uk) design, develop and manufacture state of the art horse saddles using carbon fibre. Following the opening of their new office in Beamish, Rebels plan to launch their UK brand at the British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) 2013 Trade show on February 17 – February 19.

Sylvia Dickinson, director for Rebels, said: “The opportunity to launch such an innovative product and brand into the UK, coupled with the support we have received from Business Durham means we are in the best position to have a huge impact within the UK equestrian market.”
Cllr Neil Foster, Cabinet member for economic regeneration said: “We’re delighted that yet another innovative company has chosen County Durham as the location for their business. It’s clear that the support that Durham County Council offers through Business Durham is encouraging businesses to choose County Durham as their base, creating jobs and improving the local economy.”
