Imerja wins £230k support contract with Essex County

Imerja, the IT services specialist, has won a £230,000 contract to provide endpoint security for Essex County Council.

The contract was awarded following a competitive procurement exercise and will run for 2 years. The deal will see Imerja securing the council’s entire desktop and laptop estate with Check Point security, which encompasses approximately 9000 devices.

As well as providing Check Point licenses for each device, Imerja will also undertake an estate wide review of the council’s existing endpoint security environment before upgrading it to the latest version of Check Point software. On top of this, Imerja will provide an automatic patch management service and a proactive monitoring and maintenance service.

The contract builds on an existing relationship, as Imerja already provides support and maintenance for the council’s Check Point firewalls.

Ian Jackson, managing director at Imerja, commented: “We’re acutely aware of how vital security is for public sector organisations. We’ve developed a strong relationship with Essex County Council and were able to tailor our service to around their needs.”

Darren Sharp, head of service delivery at Essex County Council, said: “Imerja’s response to the tender was detailed and bespoke, demonstrating a clear understanding of our requirements. That extra level of support allows us to concentrate on our key focus - serving our constituents.”
