Metal Stockholding Giant Barrett Steel selects Formarail®

Preforma expands the reach of it is Formarail® product line with the help of one of the UK’s largest independent steel stockholders, Barrett Steel.

Formarail® is still a relatively new name in the guardrail market, but in the past few months Formarail® manufacturer, Preforma Limited has secured distribution contracts with some of the leading names in the UK for supplying quality building and construction products. The latest name to add to the list is Barrett Steel.

Barrett Steel has strong links with many global commercial constructions companies and can introduce Formarail® to a new audience of customers.

Barrett Steel Executive Director, Dave Godfrey said: “Our highly experienced and knowledgeable experts operate throughout the world in a variety of market sectors and industries and see lots of new products enter the market. Some are truly innovative and some we know won’t last. Formarail® however is one of the shining lights and as soon as we were introduced to Formarail® we knew it was something different and there would be great demand for it.”

Ed Docherty, Managing Director for Preforma said: “Securing a contract with Barrett Steel is a significant milestone for Preforma, we have been in talks with Barrett Steel for several months, working with its team of commercial managers in preparation for launching Formarail® through its multiple branches across the UK this month.”

Formarail® is an innovative modular railing system, designed for safety and rapid installation.

The unique design of Formarail® offers a patented ball technology. This is a universal ball joint housed within the post that holds the railing tube. The tube can then be position with ease at any angle up to 45 degrees without the need for calculating the angle.

Formarail® is proven to be up to 50% quick to install than other modular railing systems as it was specifically designed to fit together with ease, providing a smooth contoured finish superior to that of its competitors.

Each Formarail® post is constructed using high quality, marine grade aluminium, it is both lightweight yet durable and highly resistant to corrosion.

Unlike traditional modular railing systems, the Formarail® posts are supplied ready assembled. Therefore there are significantly less parts to assemble on site, saving on both time and labour costs.

Dave Godfrey said: “The rotating ball within the Formarail® posts clearly speeds up the installation time and I can see significant cost savings for our customers. In today’s current climate, reducing overall project costs is essential and we are extremely pleased to be adding Formarail® to our product portfolio.”
